When a domain expires it becomes inactive automatically and all the services attached to it cease to function. If you renew your domain when it is already expired then DNS propagation may take around 24-48 hours depending on your ISP cache to start working again. Once the domain’s DNS propagates globally, your website and email should work as normal.
Alternatively, you can try checking your website or email from the different ISP where your website or server was not accessed in last 24 hours. You can also install internet proxy to bypass the DNS caching to reinstate your website or emails immediately.
