How to transfer away a domain?

Transferring your domain from Computer Xperts to another registrar is a straightforward process if you follow these steps:

Step 1: Check Eligibility for Transfer

  • Ensure your domain is at least 60 days old and is not locked for transfer (most domains have a 60-day lock after registration or transfer).
  • Ensure there are no outstanding payments or issues with your domain registration.

Step 2: Prepare Your Request

To initiate the transfer, you must provide a formal request. Please ensure the following requirements are met:

  • The request must be written on your company letterhead.
  • It must include the name, signature, and stamp of the competent authority.
  • Clearly mention the domain name you wish to transfer and the new registrar’s name.

Submit this request to our team via email or physical copy, referencing the domain registered under your ledger with Computer Xperts.

Step 3: Unlock Your Domain

  • Once we receive your request, we will unlock the domain for transfer.
  • we’ll also need to disable Privacy Protection (if enabled) to ensure the new registrar can verify your domain details.

Step 4: Obtain the EPP/Auth Code

  • We will provide you with the EPP/Auth Code, a unique code required to transfer your domain to the new registrar.

Step 5: Initiate the Transfer with the New Registrar

  • Share the EPP/Auth Code with the new registrar and initiate the transfer process.
  • Approve the transfer via the confirmation email sent to your domain’s administrative email address.

Step 6: Monitor the Transfer

The transfer process may take 5-7 days to complete. You will be notified by the new registrar once the transfer is finalized.

Important Notes

  • Transferring a domain does not affect your website or email services, but you should verify DNS settings with the new registrar after the transfer.
  • If you face any issues during the transfer, our support team is here to help.
