Transferring a .pk domain (.com.pk, .net.pk, etc.) from one service provider to another follows a different process compared to other domain extensions like .com or .net. PKNIC, the registry for .pk domains, does not use EPP codes or authorization codes. Instead, the transfer process involves the following steps:
Authorization Letter: To initiate the transfer of a .pk domain, an authorization letter must be prepared. This letter should be written on official company letterhead and must be signed and stamped by the CEO, Director, Head, or an equivalent authority (not the Domain Service Provider or Technical Contact). The letter should clearly state the request to transfer the domain and include the domain name, the name of the current registrar, and the name of the new registrar.
Submission to PKNIC: The signed authorization letter must be submitted to PKNIC by postal mail. The requisite documents should be sent to the following address:
PKNIC Collection
435 Tariq Block, Garden Town
Lahore, Pakistan.
Processing Time: Once the authorization documents are received and processed, PKNIC reviews the request and verify by phone. It takes about 3-4 business days (after verification of documents) for a transfer to go through.
