Outgoing email issues caused by a blocked SMTP port can be resolved by switching the email application to another supported port. Port 25 and Port 26 can be used as alternatives to each other, while Port 587 with TLS/STARTTLS (recommended) or Port 465 with SSL/TLS can be used when both are restricted, allowing outgoing email to continue through an available SMTP connection
Switch to an Available SMTP Port
When the current SMTP port is blocked by your ISP or network provider, use another supported port:
Port 25 blocked → Use Port 26
Port 26 blocked → Use Port 25
Ports 25 & 26 blocked → Use Port 587 or Port 465
Port 587 – TLS/STARTTLS (Recommended)
Port 465 – SSL/TLS
Is This a Mail Server Issue?
A blocked SMTP port does not necessarily indicate a problem with the mail server. Your ISP or network provider may restrict a specific port while your email account and incoming email continue to work normally.
Recommended Secure Option
Where supported, Port 587 with TLS/STARTTLS is recommended for secure and reliable outgoing email.
If switching to an available SMTP port does not restore outgoing email, please contact our support team to verify your SMTP configuration and identify any network-level restrictions.
